FAIRY TALE BALLET
Once Upon A Ballet™ DANCE CURRICULUM
In Fairy Tale Ballet, children learn their first dance steps through fairy tales and classical ballet stories. But what, exactly, does this mean? When children come to ballet class, their dance activities take them through a fairy tale story, allowing them to be part of the fairy tale.
Many childhood care facilities and schools teach theme-based curriculums in their classrooms. One week it’s farm animals, the next week it’s food, after that it’s automobiles. In our Once Upon A Ballet lesson plans, it’s fairytales. We use fairy tale stories young children are familiar with and already love as we teach them something unfamiliar: ballet. Teaching dance through fairy tales makes it more accessible for kids, enabling them to be more successful in learning new steps while, most importantly, making new friends and having fun.
This class is offered in our Learn to Dance Program which is 6, 8, and 12 Week Sessions. This class is also offered in our Recreational Program (37 weeks) which has a performance in the year end show.
Monday 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM
TINY TAPPERS
Our Tiny Tappers classes ages 4-6, focus on the basics of tap dance. The kids will learn basic skills associated with tap, learn little routines, as well as dance along to their favourite songs.
It’s so much fun making music with our feet!
This class is offered in our Learn to Dance Program which is 6, 8, and 12 Week Sessions. This class is also offered in our Recreational Program (37 weeks) which has a performance in the year end show.
Monday 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM
COMBO CLASSES AGES 4-6
This is an intro to dance class for the little ones!
This class will teach the dancers the foundational steps for both the acro and jazz styles of dance. They will learn basic motor skills to complete fun acro tricks safely and learn fun jazz steps and moves all while having fun with their dance friends!
This class is offered in our Learn to Dance Program which is 6, 8, and 12 Week Sessions. This class is also offered in our Recreational Program (37 weeks) which has a performance in the year end show.
Fabulous Flamingos – 3 – 4 yrs Thursday 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (Ballet, Acro, and Jazz)
Funky Flamingos – 4 – 5 yrs Wednesday 4:15 PM to 5:30 PM (Ballet, Acro, Hip Hop, and Jazz)
Famous Flamingos – 6 – 7 yrs Tuesday 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (Ballet, Acro, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop)
